Offshore Rig Inspections
SeaTec is a leading provider of inspections to the offshore drilling market. Our services include:
Dropped Objects Awareness and Prevention Scheme
Dropped objects feature in the top 10 causes of fatality and serious injury in the oil and gas industry.
SeaTec is committed to providing a professional and efficient service whilst carrying out dropped object surveys around the globe for multiple clients at various locations both onshore and offshore, mitigating risk to personnel and company assets.
Hoisting and Lifting Equipment Inspection
Lifting equipment should be inspected at regular intervals to ensure that it is fit for use in its intended purpose. This reduces the risk to personnel and company assets, therefore preventing possible downtime whilst creating a safer worksite for all personnel involved.
We take part in an on-going training programme with LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers
Association) and our company is a full member of LEEA. We also provide competent inspectors with LEEA qualification for inspection or examination of lifting gear and equipment.
Ex-Electrical Inspection
SeaTec provides ex-electrical inspection to ensure our clients’ compliance with all of the latest international standards, codes, regulations, practices and legal obligations. We ensure your facility and/or MODU is safer and hazard free for electrically induced explosive scenarios. We can offer both close visual and detailed inspection with competent ex inspectors.
Pressure Relief Valves (PRV) and Pressure Gauges
SeaTec offers purpose built containerised laboratories for onsite gauge and relief valve testing and calibration services with benefits such as:
- Mobile climate controlled containerised testing and calibration (certified for offshore use)
- Calibration documentation prepared prior to departure
- Certificates of gauge and PRV certification provided on-board prior to departure
- Gauges can be calibrated up to 25,000 psi onsite
We work in line with recognised relevant international standards such as API specification and IACS governing bodies’ requirements and/or client procedures as applicable.
Rope Access Services
SeaTec utilises rope access trained NDT technicians for structural inspection and survey work. Rope access is a safe, efficient and time saving method derived from recreational climbing and caving but modified to utilize a twin rope system for enhanced safety in industrial use. This makes it the access method of choice for our industry, thus eliminating the need for costly and time consuming scaffolding.
Non-Destructive Testing
Non Destructive Testing (NDT) is the process of inspecting, testing or evaluating materials,
components or assemblies for discontinuities, or differences in characteristics without destroying the serviceability of the part or system.
SeaTec provides a pool of multi-skilled operators with internationally recognised certification ensuring the inspection is carried out to the client’s procedures and specification. Recognising the need for cost effectiveness, we can provide multi-disciplined NDT technicians capable of carrying out the following:
- Magnetic particle inspections
- Ultrasonic thickness gauging
- Eddy current inspections
- Dye penetrant inspections
- Ultrasonic flaw detection
