SeaTec was originally formed in 1987 as Acomarit Consulting to provide ship inspection and superintendency services for Acomarit’s managed fleet of wet and dry cargo vessels. When Acomarit was acquired by V.Group, the business was renamed V. Ships Consulting with subsidiary brand SeaTec Safety Services providing independent onboard safety assessments and training.
Our repair services were integrated into SeaTec in April 2008, suppling high quality repair and riding squad teams for port and in-service repairs worldwide.
In 2006, SeaTec’s underwater services were enhanced with the acquisition of UMC International which would later be rebranded to SeaTec.
In August 2007 we opened our new head office at Skypark in Glasgow, situated close to the Scottish Event Campus (SEC), Glasgow city centre and within easy reach by car, train or other public transport to Glasgow and Edinburgh international airports.
In 2019, all of our technical maritime services were brought under the SeaTec brand, offering a range of expertise including projects and new build, inspections, repairs and maintenance, communications, condition monitoring and underwater services.
Through our parent organisation V.Group, we are a leading global provider of maritime support services, offering ship management, crewing, catering, insurance and supply chain solutions in addition to SeaTec’s technical services. Together with supporting management and commercial services, we have an unrivalled industry knowledge with performance assured.
SeaTec is guided by V.Group’s values, which explain who were are and how we do business. By applying them to our operations and decision making on a daily basis, every colleague is able to work together effectively and strive for perfection in satisfying the needs of our customers.
