SeaTec Supports Clients With Technical Services
SeaTec has been busy providing a range of services to customers with vessels based in China.
Offering round-the-clock assistance, SeaTec’s services include various inspections, drydocking and new building.
One of the most popular types of inspection that SeaTec offers is the Inspection of Hazardous Materials (IHM) for all classification societies. IHM certification is an important legal requirement since 31st December 2020 affecting all existing EU flagged ships as well as vessels flying the flag of a third country and calling at an EU port or anchorage. It is also a current requirement for new build vessels or ships which are to be recycled. As a result, demand is high, and Stefano Mutolo, Project Engineer at SeaTec, notes that it’s important for owners to consider booking an IHM in advance: “As a leading provider of IHM, we’re encouraging ship owners to plan ahead and book an IHM with SeaTec, to ensure availability.”
Other inspections SeaTec has provided throughout China include UWILD and pre-purchase / condition inspections for ship owners, ship managers, financial institutions, ship brokers, underwriters and P&I clubs. Tino Rizzo, IRM Director, says: “With SeaTec’s global network and manpower we are able to travel throughout China and we can mobilise quickly to offer inspections at a range of ports worldwide.”
Drydocking and new build support is another area where SeaTec has supported numerous customers throughout China, thanks to an international network. Davide Leoni, Director of Projects and New Builds, says that clients can be confident in SeaTec’s support wherever they are based: “Our specialist expertise makes us the ideal partner for all new build activity and drydocking, whether our clients are based in China or elsewhere in the world.”
