SeaTec partners with major ship engineering conference
SeaTec was the main sponsor of MOSES2019, the second biannual conference on modelling and optimisation of ship energy systems, held at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow in May.
As the shipping industry’s leading seminar of its kind, MOSES2019 aimed to address challenges and stimulate discussion among scientists and professionals working in the field of ship energy systems design and operation. Delegates from as far afield as Japan and Brazil came to Glasgow for this unique opportunity to expand their learning and share expertise.
Organisers Dr Gerasimos Theotokatos and Dr Andrea Coraddu, professors at the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering, where the conference was held, welcomed SeaTec’s sponsorship.

As a key sponsor, SeaTec was invited to present the award for best paper, a prestigious prize given to one of the research theses presented throughout the three-day conference. With the submission of so many detailed and meticulously researched papers, organisers selected two winners. Gabriele and Rhona Deb, SeaTec’s Marketing Manager, presented the winning authors with their awards.
The next MOSES conference takes place in 2021 and is expected to attract a sizable delegation from across the globe, continuing the discussion on ship energy design best practice.
