SeaTec and V.Ships Leisure mobilise team for vessel repair
A combined team from SeaTec and V.Ships Leisure recently provided repair and maintenance services on board the Expedition vessel during a wet dock in Amsterdam. A team was dispatched to the Damen shipyard where the vessel was docked for nearly two weeks in September.
A total of 19 experts carried out a range of services during this time, including a main engine overhaul; a deep clean of tanks and removal of oil and paint; carpentry throughout internal areas and stainless steel plate work for the galley, crew accommodation and bridge.
Ulrika Quist, SeaTec’s General Manager who oversaw the work, explained how teamwork was an important factor in completing the job: “SeaTec collaborated with V.Ships Leisure to bring together a team that could complete the required work. Thanks to the expertise within both organisations, we were able to mobilise a skilled team quickly to the Expedition vessel.”
Silvia Rondelli, Superintendant at V.Ships Leisure added: “Together we have successfully completed many projects throughout the years. For us SeaTec is not a supplier but part of the team, thanks to the great cooperation and respect from both sides.”
Ulrika also noted the client’s satisfaction with the work completed and level of service provided: “The client retained some of our staff to carry out further work due to their confidence in our delivery. Together with V.Ships Leisure, we have one of the most skilled and experienced repair and maintenance teams in the industry – many of us have over 10 years’ service with V.Group – and we’re often the first choice supplier when it comes to manpower for many of our clients. SeaTec is uniquely positioned to support owners on major repair projects of this kind, both wet and dry dock, given its unique mix of operational expertise, global servicing footprint and sourcing capabilities.”
