In May 2015, Seatec Repairs completed its 10th scrubber installation project. A typical project consists of laser scanning, designing, procuring (excluding the scrubber tower), and installing the open, closed, and hybrid scrubber systems that drastically reduce smoke and SOx emissions.
Seatec Repairs has been contracted by various cruise shipping companies whose main challenge is to find a one-stop shop that is able to provide a turn-key solution from design to installation on a global basis. Fast execution and experience executing works whilst the vessel is sailing in order to minimize dry-docking time are key factors in selecting their right partner. Seatec Repairs is, in this respect, much better positioned than local yards to respond to these requirements.
